My Culture

My culture is Brazil, on new year they build little boats with materials. Four example flax, they use flax's Woods to make the masts and hulls for the boats. They use flax's leaves for string. they put offerings on the boat for the god of the ocean which is called
Iemanjá. When it is sunset they let the boats float away on top of the ocean. when the clock is on 12 they jump 7 waves for good luck.

  1. Kia ora Brisa!

I loved reading your post and learning about your Brazilian culture! What a cool cultural tradition, to make little boats every new year. Have you made one before?

I lived in Chile for a little while when I was younger and they had some very interesting traditions. On new years they eat 12 grapes for good luck for every month of the year! I love learning about different cultures and traditions, thank you for sharing yours!

One thing to remember is that if you use images from the internet, you need to attribute them, so we know where you've borrowed them from. If you're not sure how to do this, you can have a look at this presentation:

    Keep up the great work!
